Okay, Mom. You bought this fancy-pants DSLR camera, but you have yet to take it off of Auto mode. Maybe you tried reading the manual and quit by page 9. You spent a lot of money on that hunk o’metal/plastic/glass, and you’re beyond frustrated. So you leave it on the safe little green box and hope for the best each time you aim the camera at your kids. And yet, this expensive camera takes worse photos than your trusty el-cheapo point & shoot.
Trust me, I have been there!
Camera manuals were written by geeks for geeks, and since we’re not geeks, it’s all greek. But I can decode the mysteries of your DSLR camera, and help you start taking the photos of your kids that you envisioned when you first bought that darn thing!

Be True: Everyday is a workshop designed for moms to learn to take better photos of their children (in between professional portrait sessions with Be True Image Design, of course!) You CAN get more from your camera. You CAN take better photos of your kids in everyday situations. You CAN learn to control your DSLR for once and for all!
~On the Agenda~
All About Light
Introduction to Exposure
ISO
Shutter Speed
Aperture
Basic Camera Modes

and finally, Tips for Taking Better Photos of Your Kids

FAQs
Q: How much are the workshops and what do they include?
A: The 3-hour group class is $95 per person (+ tax), with a minimum of 3 participants. The fee includes a workbook with space for notes. Class size is limited so everyone will have an opportunity to ask specific questions.
Q: When are the next workshops scheduled?
A: There is no current public group class option at this time, as I head into the busy spring shooting season. Public group classes will return in the summer. Private group classes (minimum 3 participants) and private individual classes ARE currently available. Private classes are held in your home (Raleigh/Wake Forest area). Please contact me at christy@betrueimagedesign for available dates.
Q: How do I sign up for the workshop?
A: Email Christy at christy@betrueimagedesign.com if you are interested in a one-on-one or private group class in your home (minimum 3 participants).
Q:I don’t have a DSLR camera, but I love photography and want to take better pictures with my point and shoot. Can I still come?
A: Yes, we would still love to have you! If your point & shoot has optional camera modes, you’ll learn how to use them. There are a couple of topics that pertain to DSLR cameras, such as lens choices and functions that your camera may not have. But you’ll still get a lot out of the class!
Q: Do I have to be a mom to sign up for your workshops?
A: Absolutely not. Anyone is welcome to attend; however, keep in mind that we will discuss at length how to take better photos of our children.
Q: Do you offer special discounts for referrals?
A: Yes, we do! If you bring a friend to the workshop, you’ll receive $10 off of your workshop fee!
Q: Do you offer private one-on-one classes?
A: Yes, private classes are held at your home or other location and are $150 for a 2-hour class. Private classes can be specifically tailored to your needs; commonly discussed topics include camera operation, photo reviews, basic Photoshop editing, and even shooting practice.
Be True Everyday workshops are not intended for photographers who are in business or planning to go into business. For individuals interested in business mentoring, including Business 101, Portfolio Review, etc., please contact Christy directly to discuss your needs.
